Opt-out policy

The short version

Telephone (916) 386-2665 and say you want to be removed. No form, no account, no unsubscribe link to hunt for, and no reason required. We will confirm it on the call.

What you can ask for

Stop contacting me. We stop. In practice there is very little to stop: we do not run a mailing list and nobody is added to anything for telephoning to ask a price.

Tell me what you hold. We will tell you what is on file against your name or your institution, and send it to you.

Correct something. A misspelled name, a wrong delivery address, a department that has changed. Corrected on the call.

Delete what you hold. We delete what we are free to delete, and tell you plainly what we are not.

What we cannot delete, and why

Where you have actually bought something, the transaction leaves records that accounting and tax rules require us to keep for a set period: the quotation, the purchase order, the invoice and the payment record. We cannot delete those on request, and a supplier who offered to would be offering to break the law rather than doing you a favour.

What we can do, and will, is remove you from any contact use of those details, so the records sit in the accounts and nowhere else until their retention period expires, at which point they are destroyed.

How long it takes

Contact removal takes effect immediately on the call.

A request to see, correct or delete what we hold is answered within thirty days, and usually a great deal sooner, because there is not much to look through.

Advertising you may have seen

This site currently loads no advertising or analytics tag at all, so there is nothing on it for you to opt out of. If we later run paid search advertising, the Microsoft Advertising UET tag described in the cookie policy would be set by Microsoft rather than by us, and would be refused through Microsoft and through your browser.
